When opening SpikerSoft Stacker, the application currently launches in a windowed view. For a better user experience and workflow immersion, it should open in fullscreen mode by default. This improvement would provide a cleaner workspace and maximize visibility of editing panels and image previews.
Issue Description
The initial windowed launch limits the usable workspace, especially on smaller screens. Users must manually switch to fullscreen each time they start the app. Enabling fullscreen by default would streamline the startup experience and make the interface feel more professional and immersive.

Addressed on main by spikerj/spikersoft-stacker#566 (85f796a, merged 2026-09-20) — but with a deliberate difference from what this asks for, so worth your confirmation rather than just closing.
What shipped: the window now opens maximized, on by default, with a Start maximized setting to turn it off. main passes with_maximized(prefs.start_maximized). Previously it opened at a fixed 1440×900 and stayed there, which is the "manually resize at every launch" complaint here.
The difference: this issue asks for fullscreen; what landed is maximized.
Maximized fills the screen, keeps the title bar and taskbar.
Fullscreen removes all window chrome.
Maximized delivers what the summary actually asks for — "cleaner workspace and maximize visibility of editing panels and image previews" — without the costs of true fullscreen: no visible way out, awkward on multi-monitor setups, and it hides the window controls people use to move Stacker between screens. It is also reversible per-user via the new setting, which fullscreen-by-default would not have been.
Translated into all 15 locale catalogs, so the setting is labelled everywhere.
Closing this as done seems right to me, but I have not closed it — if you specifically want true fullscreen (no title bar) rather than maximized, say so and it is a small follow-up on top of the same preference.

Closing as delivered by spikerj/spikersoft-stacker#566 — the launch-time workspace problem this describes is solved, and the setting makes it reversible.
