In SpikerSoft Learn → Coding → Languages → C# (and other languages), the Console Output panel on the right retains previous lesson results even after performing a fresh login. This behavior can confuse users, as it displays outdated test results from prior sessions. The panel should be cleared automatically upon login to provide a clean workspace while preserving lesson progress.
Issue Description
After logging out and back into SpikerSoft, the Console Output panel still shows the last test results or error messages from previous attempts. Although lesson progress is correctly maintained, the residual output creates visual clutter and may mislead users into thinking the test was re-run or cached incorrectly.

Preconditions
User must have previously completed or attempted a lesson before logging out.
Steps to Reproduce
Complete or attempt a lesson in Coding → Languages → C#.
Log out of SpikerSoft.
Log back in and return to the same lesson.
Observe that the Console Output panel still displays the previous test result.
Expected Result
Upon fresh login:
The Console Output panel should be empty.
Lesson progress should remain intact.
The user should start with a clean workspace for new attempts.
Actual Result
The Console Output panel retains old test results.
The workspace appears cluttered or misleadingly active.
Lesson progress is correctly preserved, but the output state is not reset.
Evidence
The screenshot shows the Console Output panel displaying previous test results even after a fresh login.
Impact
Reduces clarity and user experience.
Creates confusion about whether the test was re-run automatically.
Minor but noticeable inconsistency compared to other learning modules.
Frequency
Always
Reproducibility
100%
Severity
Low (QoL improvement)
Suggested Fix
Implement a session reset for the Console Output panel:
Clear all previous test results upon login.
Maintain lesson progress and code editor state.
Optionally add a “Clear Output” button for manual resets to improve usability.

Thanks for testing the C# lessons this closely! We looked into this and keeping the results is intentional, so I'm closing it — but you did find something confusing, see the end.
What we checked
When you open a lesson you've already attempted, the Results panel deliberately restores your last graded run. This was added in response to an earlier report (#690) where students said their results "disappeared" when they came back to a lesson.
Those results come from the server (GET /Lessons/{n}/graded-result, which requires sign-in) and belong to your account. Nothing is kept in the browser. If someone else signs in on the same computer they see their own history, never yours — so logging out has nothing it needs to clear, and there's no privacy problem.
Switching to a different lesson clears the panel first, so output never carries from one lesson into another.
Restored results are meant to show a small notice: "Showing your graded run from ." Pressing Submit replaces them with your new run.
What you did spot: the restored run is from an earlier attempt whose values were different (Dennis / Nairobi), while the instructions now show new ones (Rob / Quito) and the editor shows fresh starter code. Old results next to new instructions look wrong, even with the notice. That's a fair point and has been noted for a follow-up. We also noticed the failure text in that narrow panel wraps one letter per line — also noted.
If you did not see the "Showing your graded run…" notice above the results, please open a new issue — that would be a separate bug.
